About Siri Kirin/Kathe Forrest
Kathe Forrest began studying Hatha Yoga while attending the University of Houston. Subsequently, she studied the philosophy and ideas of many Yogis including: Marcia Moore, Sivananda, Indra Devi, and Swami Vishnudevananda. In 1988, she began a 10-year study with Thomas Forrest who introduced her to Hatha and Kundalini Yoga. She completed her Kundalini Teacher training through Yoga Yoga in Austin and is now certified in that type of yoga. Kathe taught in Texas for 7 years through the Brenham Community Education department and the Brenham School District before moving back to Colorado. She participated as a yoga instructor at the Margaret Austin Retreat Center in Chappell Hill, Texas as well.. Kathe received her Hatha yoga training over a period of 10 years and taught in the Boulder, CO area for two years before moving to Texas. I was always interested in herbs and became more involved in the natural ways to administer to the body as I began to work in food coops and then the Natural foods industry. I learned yoga, how to bake my own bread, make tofu and use the various herbs around my town. My family began to use alternative forms of healing such as acupuncture, chiropractic and homeopathics. I became certified as a nutritional counselor and herbalist in 2002 through Trinity College of Natural Health. I had a Reiki treatment in 2004 and it helped my back pain and I was able to sleep deeply after Reiki, which I believe is an aide to the healing process. I became certified as a Reiki Level 1 in 2004 and Reiki Level II in 2006 through The International Center for Reiki Training. I have completed the third level(2009) and am now considered a Reiki Master.
